Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native who was born in Houston on the 17th of April, 1972. William John Garner was her father, and was a chemical engineer company called Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local college. She received her degree in chemical engineering to emulate her father. To achieve her dream of becoming an actress, she relocated into New York. In her Broadway performances were followed by a stint in a local eatery. Her first husband Scott Foley met her on the show "Felicity," where she was a guest. Garner made her debut in Alias, an action thriller. Her first major part was in the acclaimed romance 13 Going on 30. In it she played the young woman trapped within a 30+ year old's body. Garner picked Gary Winick as the director of her film. They continued searching for roles until Winick's passing in 2011.
