Richard B. Cheney is famous American public servant, businessman and politician. Cheney was well-known in Washington's political scene. George W. Bush was his fourth U.S. President. Bush chose Cheney as his vice president in July 2000. He cited his experience and knowledge. Dick Cheney is a former chief of staff to presidents, was a member of Congress, and he was also secretary of Defense. Both Republicans as well as Democrats appreciate his honesty. Cheney is of the opinion that his work as a member of his position in the Bush administration is to serve as an open and discrete adviser. In accepting the Republican vice-presidential nod Cheney stated that he looks forward to serving with an administration that will strive to get things done by engaging across the partisan divide and working with political opponents to achieve a mutual purpose. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941 the child of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. After 13 years of age, old, he relocated along with his parents from Nebraska to Casper in the western state of Wyoming, where his father directed the local district of soil conservation for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
